So last weekend’s snow storm made it pretty much a no brainer to hang out in the Denver area and miss all the I-70 craziness. A few buddies and I had planned to climb Cristo Couloir on Quandary on Sunday, but with that plan on hold for the time being, I felt the need to get out and do some climbing after all. Well, turns out the highest point in Denver is only about a 9 mile drive away, so with ice ax and helmet at the ready I enlisted a friend to go with me to document the occasion. A little bit of internet research showed that the point was just off a sidewalk off on Kipling in the SW corner of the city. A 25 foot hike through snow quickly brought us to the top, and I got my summit photo. Beers were necessary after of course…it’s tradition!
